Tusker Fc theKenya Premier League champions got off to a good start, dominating the first 20 minutes with shots and set pieces aimed at the Sfaxien goalkeeper.

In the 25th minute, Charles Momanyi had a chance to put Tusker ahead, but he hit the side net.

Aymen Harzi scored a penalty kick for the hosts against the run of play after Kalos Kirenge fouled Maarofi inside the area. The hosts went into halftime with a 1-0 advantage thanks to a clinical penalty in the 35th minute.

The three-time Confederation Cup champions CS Sfaxien were victorious thanks to a single penalty strike.

Otôho started the second half in the same manner as the first, almost regaining the lead when Mose Nkounkou’s cross evaded everyone in the box and found Massanga Matondo, but his effort was deflected out for a corner.

Gor Mahia fought for a goal to boost their chances of qualifying for the group stages, and they came close in the 67th minute when Nkata guided Alphonse Onyango’s cross into the path of Ulimwengu, but the Burundian lacked poise and sent his effort over the bar.

In the 78th minute, K’Ogalo had another chance to put Sydney ahead, but his shot went wide over the bar.

Otôho held off a late attack from Gor Mahia to earn a 1-1 draw and advance to the Confederation Cup group stages.

Tusker was defeated 1-0, while Gor Mahia was defeated 2-1 on aggregate.
